Who We Are
Since 2004, Eden Custom Homes has been designing and building homes in the greater Des Moines, Iowa area while staying on time and on budget. With years of building experience along with a vast network of partners and subcontractors, we are able to build you the best quality home at a very competitive price. The price of your new home doesn’t support multiple office buildings, a fleet of vehicles, or layers of office workers and management so the money you spend on your new home goes straight where you want it…into your new home!
Meet Matt
Matt Peterson has been building homes for over 20 years. He is dedicated to using high-quality materials as his standard and hires the best tradespeople in the business. He loves going above and beyond building minimum requirements.
Meet Kim
Kim Peterson has been a realtor for a little over 10 years, serving the Des Moines area. She specializes in creating solutions and customizing your buying, building and selling experience to fit your individual needs. She is dedicated and passionate about meeting and exceed her clients’ expectations.
Matt and Kim have three children together – Sidney, Lexi and Miles – along with their pup, Piper.

A lot of other builders will try and charge you for “Extras and Upgrades.” At Eden Custom Homes, those “Extras and Upgrades” come standard with your new home!

- Partially framed and insulated basements stubbed for bath (when unfinished)

Our Process
Initial Meeting
First, we meet for introductions and to discuss design, options, budget and our build process. With beautiful and modern home plans already on file, you can get to the home you’ve always wanted in less time. Choose one of many Ranch, 2-story, or 1 1/2 story plans on file with the option to leave the plan as is or make your own custom changes to fit your needs.
Review Plans and Sign-Off
Next, we have an in-person meeting to review, revise and finalize building plans to ensure your needs and wants have been fulfilled.
Build Your Home
Once plans are finalized, the building process will begin. We will meet throughout different stages of the building process. Once framing is complete, we will discuss mechanicals. When sheetrock is complete, we will discuss trim. We will complete a final walk through inspection approximately one week prior to closing.
